The application as it stands, it will load 30 images from the API no matter what route the user is on. This is fine in most cases, except when user is on the /photo/:id route in which case an entire collection of Photos is not required.

This is a nice-to-have but having interaction animations could improve clarity and experience to users to what they are doing.

Some ideas:

• Scale thumbnails from 0 to 1 when image finally loads
• Transition between Gallery and Photo views
• Sorting animation like http://isotope.metafizzy.co/

While showing the gallery, the user can sort by number of views, date taken, and title. This feature works. However when the user scrolls to load more photos, the new photos are just added to the gallery and not sorted according to the sorting preference.

Whenever a route changes, the Photos collection cleans and reloads new data losing any pervious state and possibly duplicating API requests.

onscroll event listeners are not great for performance. A better listener should be implemented to run the infiniteScroll() function.
