dice-platform's Issues

Wrong plugin it.polimi.dice.profiles.

Hi @marcgise , @abelgomez notified us at PMI about a wrong plugin currently included in the DICE-Platform called "it.polimi.dice.profiles". I've still not installed the platform, but I'm going to do this right now just to have a check. I'm absolutely not an expert using eclipse and managing eclipse's plugins, but what sound weird to me is that as far as I understood if there is such a plugin in the platform, there should be also an update site somewhere. Now the thing is that from our side (PMI) we have not released so far any plugin/update site, so I really cannot see from where that plugin comes from. It seems to be related with the DICE-Profile, but I cannot see anything about that plugin in the DICE-Profile repository (maybe here @abelgomez can confirm). So I'm wondering if you can help us in understanding from where that plugin comes from, in order to fix the issue. Thanks a lot in advance.

EGit Update site is broken in target platform

EGit Update site in the target platform points to http://download.eclipse.org/egit/updates, and the current target platform declares version 4.3.0.201604071810-r.

As of the 5th of May (2016) that update site has been upgraded and now contains version 4.3.1.201605051710-r.

Consider switching to a version-based site, e.g:
http://download.eclipse.org/egit/updates-4.3.1/ for 4.3.1.201605051710-r
or
http://download.eclipse.org/egit/updates-4.3/ for 4.3.0.201604071810-r
or, preferably, remove the specific EGit update Site and use the generic Mars update site (that provides version 4.1.1.201511131810-r):
http://download.eclipse.org/releases/mars/

Update target platform definition according to the new PNML framework release policy

The developers of PNML Framework have changed the policy they follow when releasing new versions (see issue https://github.com/lhillah/pnmlframework/issues/5).

In this new policy, each new version will be published in its own and permanent update site. This will avoid the issue of version mismatch that the DICE target platform definition suffered when PNML framework released a new version.

Currently, the DICE target platform requires PNML Framework 2.2.10, and the declared remote update site points to http://pnml.lip6.fr/pnmlframework/updatesite (whose contents will change in the next PNML Framework release). Now, it can be safely set to http://pnml.lip6.fr/pnmlframework/updatesite/2.2.10/.

Include Install from Update Site capabilities

It would be nice to have in the DICE IDE the "Install from Update Site..." window and its capabilities.

I'd like to install some eclipse plugins which are not part of the core DICE RCP.

IDE stall

Dear all,

Here is a reported issue on the DICE IDE:

"please see below a minor bug we are experiencing with the IDE.
Basically we are trying to open in Papyrus the models ad* and sd*
here: https://github.com/dice-project/DICE-Simulation/tree/m2m-redesign/es.unizar.disco.pnml.m2m/examples/

With Eclipse+Papyrus there's no problem. We create a new project, copy the 3 folders under it in the workspace, and the Papyrus opens the models fine.

With DICE IDE on two computers we first faced the issue that it did not start. We had to add -vm C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\javaw to the DICE ini. I guess we did not have the environmental variable for Java set correctly, but this is probably the default since we had this on two computers. Can we alert the user about this issue in the README.md on github?

One DICE IDE is started, repeating the same steps with Papyrus makes the IDE stall. I changed the vmargs to but no ch-Xms2048m -Xmx3096m but no changes. I use Windows 10. My colleague seemed to use an older Windows, probably XP."

Thanks in advance
BR
