dotfiles's Introduction

Hi there, I'm Daniel De Lucca ๐Ÿ‘‹

๐Ÿ–– About me

Hi! I'm a tech-savvy open-source enthusiast software engineer. Once an entrepreneur, I've worked for some of the largest Brazilian unicorns, like @quintoandar and @neon, creating applications that handled thousands of requests per minute. Also, I am a @nestjs contributor, as well as a contributor for Chia-Network, @kubeless and other open-source projects.

๐Ÿ‘” What am I working right now?

I'm currently working as a software architect for @trilonio improving the @nestjs applications of @motion-it.

NestJS TypeScript NodeJS Next JS GraphQL React

๐ŸŽ“ What am I learning right now?

I'm currently reading The Architecture of Open Source Applications, and I'm exploring the most used design patterns on the largest open-source applications. It is an impressive book, that explains easily many common architecture decisions.

Also, I'm learning to code using Rust, doing it in some new sandbox projects that I'm creating.

๐Ÿง™โ€ What is my current side quest?

I'm currently researching about runtime and IO prediction for seismic algorithms at Petrobras.

dotfiles's Issues

Dotfiles proper autoload

๐Ÿ’ฉ How it is currently developed

Right now, my dotfiles Zsh plugin is autoloading .env files, but I follow the .env.local pattern (only for secrets). Also, in new installations, that plugin is asking if I want to autoload the file.

๐ŸŒŸ What is the optimal solution

The plugin should autoload .env.local and, if possible, also .env files. It would be awesome if we were able to always enable the autoloading instead of prompting the first time.

๐Ÿ˜“ Why we did that way

I was using the .env structure before the revamp.

๐Ÿ’ฃ What are the possible impacts

I would need to fix the config everytime I install my dotfiles (which is many, since I use Github Codespaces)

Source min dotfiles from full

๐Ÿ’ฉ How it is currently developed

Right now, I'm duplicating my dotfiles to have the min/full behavior.

๐ŸŒŸ What is the optimal solution

In the full dotfiles, I should source the min and add the required changes afterward.

๐Ÿ˜“ Why we did that way

To test if the min/full structure would work.

๐Ÿ’ฃ What are the possible impacts

In the future, chances are that I'm going to add new resources to my dotfiles and forget about that structure.
