ses's Issues

refresh not finding any Sonos devices

Installed the .dmg, app is starting but not finding any devices. Sonos controller on Mac and iPhone is running fine.

Any hints for troubleshooting? Any special permissions required?

Regards,
Markus

Feature request: make the volume slider respond to scrolling

Feature request: make the volume slider respond to scrolling on a MAcBook's touchpad (like the volume sliders e.g. in Music.app or the system volume menubar item). This is much easier to use with a touchpad than having to grab the slider knob and move it. Same goes for mouse wheels, if used.

Ability to play URL

Hello,

thank you for your app.
Maybe you could also integrate the possibility to play a certain URL in the menu bar.

I'm not sure if it is possible to add it via the sonos npm library
bencevans/node-sonos#422

Thank you

Making Ses available via MacPorts

Hi Doğacan,

I'm big a fan of Ses and also a MacPorts maintainer. I'd like to make Ses available via MacPorts, if you agree, but run into a few problems:

  1. MacPorts tries to build from source where possible, but I'm having trouble to reproducibly build Ses. Npm5/nodejs8 only work after patching a dependency (discoverjs) while current npm6/nodejs15 do not seem to work at all. Maybe I'm doing something wrong - I'm not too deep into js web stuff.
Do you have detailed build steps available, especially listing the assumed build environment and all manual dependencies (e.g. webpack is not pulled automatically when running "npm run build") and configuration steps that may be required?
Also: how to build Ses.app without signing it and packing up as a dmg? Is there an easy way to skip those for MacPorts unnecessary steps? All I'd need is the app bundle.

  2. Failing to build from source, I tried to utilize the binary download, only to find a zip containing a dmg containing an app bundle. Zipping it up saves just 200k in a 67MB download but adds one more step to automate for extraction that may fail and needs to be cleaned up (mount/unmount). Would you mind uploading a dmg or a zipped app bundle directly?

  3. Versioning: I'd need a way to check for the current and possible new available versions, which is easiest and most reliably if you'd use Github's release feature. Maybe you could look into tagging a release and adding the binary downloads to it? I could parse the readme for the version string that's part of the download URL but I'd rather not.

Kind regards,

Lothar

Ses not working anymore on Ventura 13.2.1

Could it be that Ses does not work anymore on Ventura 13.2.1? I can see the app still runs in the background in Activity Monitor. However, it cannot be accessed anymore via the menu bar. Any suggestions?
