4.10.0b Version?

Your read me says to use the release version that matches HDest's version, but there isn't one for the latest build.

Are there any plans for one in the future?

(Doesn't have to be in the near future, I just want to know if it will happen at all)

(Also thank you for basically integrating "Debug Counters" into this, I can't wait to use this)

Implement HUD Core usage

HUD Core, in my opinion, is definitely better to use than just overriding statusbar.zs (which causes a lot of problems when it comes to updating or adapting to other custom hud addons)

Currently, I have 2 ideas for implementing HUD Core usage:

  1. Create some HUDElements that has Hideous Helmet's custom HUD modifications.
  2. Inherit and replace HCStatusbar with HHStatusbar to filter out HUDElements with specific namespaces depending on whether the player has a helmet or not. (might have some problems, but could remove the need for custom HUD addons having to add Hideous Helmet support)

As a side note, this probably won't be implemented any time soon; and if it does, expect to see it in the modules branch.

Strip action spawns HUD helmet object and not HUD helmet (spare) object.

The helmet strip actions removes the player's helmet, however, it doesn't spawn the HUD helmet (spare) object, but a HUD helmet. This issue makes it so that the helmet uses a garrison armor texture while in backpack and removing it from the backpack duplicates it.
It's easy to reproduce the bug: start the game with the loadout hdh, bak, wear the spare helmet, strip off the helmet (the helmet should be on the ground), hold your backpack and grab the helmet off the ground and into the backpack. The helmet inside the backpack should have the texture of garrison armor. Removing it from the backpack causes two HUD helmet objects to spawn.

Updated Compatibility

There are currently some HUD issues which I've noticed while doing a recent playthru that I thought should be addressed. These occur when you're not wearing a helmet and Hide Weapon Status is set to Yes.

  • Pistol always displays single shot mode even if the weapon isn't capable of changing firemodes i.e. a standard pistol
  • SMG doesn't display full auto. It's literally just a blank space where STFULAUT should be
  • Thunder Buster doesn't display spray mode. Same as above. Just a blank space where STBURAUT should be
  • Hunter doesn't display full auto.
  • Nyx doesn't display burst fire.
  • Bitch doesn't display any firemodes. It is capable of semi, burst and full auto and displays none of these.
  • Fenris doesn't display single shot. Fenris was overhauled fairly recently and has semi and full auto fire modes.
  • Needs compatibility with HEV Armor. Armor durability is displayed regardless of if a helmet is worn or not.
