Infinite preloading. Cannot use. Tested on Samsung tablet and phone.

Users can start the re-indexing process as many times as they want while the last re-index is still running. This will eat extra CPU time, there should instead be an alert saying "Re-indexing is already under way!"

Playlist doesn't repeat if there is only 1 song.

Sometimes, after a song has played, the player will not advance to the next song but instead just stop playing.

This probably has something to do with the HTML5 tag.

Can add songs to queue, view the queue and such

Shuffle sometimes chooses the same song as before. That's dumb.

Make Beatstream work on iPad

Flashblock blocks the SoundManager 2 flash on Firefox and the playing silently fails.

Solution: Display a visible alert telling the user to disable Flashblock here.

Search strings such as:

• "d fast" -- for matching that exact string
• word OR word -- for matching both words (currently everything is AND)

It doesn't matter if repeat is on or off, the playlist will always repeat endlessly.

Support for transcoding files that are in format that isn't supported in client applications, ie. browsers support different codecs and containers etc.

Create a install guide on how to install and run Beatstream on Apache+Passenger combo.

Especially when shuffling, it would be nice to be able to go back to the previous song.

If the user has Mighty Wings by Cheap Trick (from the Top Gun soundtrack) in his music library, play this song when the clock is nearing 11 am. This will signal that it's time for lunch.

Also, some glorious message that "your player has been taken over. It's 11 am"

There should be a clear "Loading" indicator when the app is starting (= fetching media library and forming the initial playlist).

Why don't we use mediainfo instead of mp3info, which will allow us to get media info for files other than mp3 e.g. m4a, mp4 etc. I have tried it myself in a cloned repo. Only problem i faced was that default flash player wasn't able to play m4a file, i have changed the default player to html5audio. It seems to work now :)

I have a problem after login. Every time that I try to login, I will redirected to login page again. This error show on server log

ActionController::RoutingError (No route matches [GET] "/api/v1/profile"):

Save the last state. Last song and playlist that was playing. Retrieve last state (song and playlist) on startup and automatically scroll the songlist to the correct location. Just like in rdio ;)

The UI is not as pretty in Firefox as it could be. The CSS is missing -moz vendor prefixes etc.

There is no visible indicator for the re-indexing process and after it is done, you see a blank page.

Proposed implementation:

1. Use AJAX
2. Add a "Indexing..." -indicator on the top bar when it is indexing
3. Show a visible message when indexing is complete
4. Refresh "All Music" -view with the new songs

User can scroll horizontally to move the app so that it looks broken. See image.

There are issues with the seekbar and the player not working with Firefox. SoundManager 2 might solve these problems!

When I load the application in Dev branch the app can´t load css and js. I didn´t find any of this file in the Project folder.

Since iconv was deprecated in 1.9.3, I wasn't able to run the database migration until including iconv in the Gemfile.

Whenever you click to sort the playlist, there is no indicator that the app is sorting the playlist which results in the user wondering if the click was received at all.

There should be a clear yet subtle indicator that the app is sorting the playlist.

Hi, is just a little question. What's the best strategy for deploy a Beatstream app? capistrano could be a good choice?

Pressing Ctrl/Cmd+A should select all tracks on the currently visible view / playlist.

Make the layout and music playing work on iPhone

Timo Mihaljov suggested that a Nyanalyzer should be added. Nyanalyzer is a nyan-cat inspired audio analyzer used in Clementine.

I have no idea where that true could be coming from. Might be a corrupted file. I'm running it on console for now and will probably end up going to use select{|s| s.is_a?(Song)} as a quick fix.

Installing fresh on my machine and loading up 0.0.0.0:3000 shows me ActiveRecord::RecordNotFound in MainController#index page.

I get around it by changing application_controller.rb
@user ||= User.find(session[:user_id])
to
@user ||= User.find_by_email('hardcoded_email')

Sometimes users might have MP3 files that have invalid UTF-8 byte order in the filename. Tell the user that there are issues with their MP3 files.
