The installation instructions for Windows say "After installing Python and Git Bash: [download and install the SWC installer]", but don't give instructions for installing Python. Should we add these instructions, or not have learners install Python (or the Software Carpentry Windows installer, since my understanding is it requires Python)?

I'm not planning to have anyone do things that require Python, but it might be nice for Windows users to have nano and SQLite in msysgit.

@danabauer @sarahsupp @cbahlai - Are we planning to have learners use a virtual machine during this workshop? The VM instructions might be unnecessary and confusing for some, but Dana pointed out that the VM could be a last resort for learners who experience major installation problems. Should we reword the webpage section about setting up the VM to make it clear that if learners are able to install the other software, they don't need to worry about the VM?
