dahliaOS Website

Website

  • Official, one and only website for the dahliaOS project
  • Find it by clicking here!

Development

To develop and locally test the website:

1. Install development tools:

  1. Install bun
  2. Code editor of your choice (we recommend VSCode)

2. Install dependencies:

Install node modules required to run the website by running:

bun install

3. Start the Next.js dev server:

bun dev

In a browser, load the page localhost:3000 and you should now be able to test the website while making your changes. Next.js' dev server has hot reloading so no need to restart the instance when it's running!

4. Build:

After making your changes and verifying it all works in the dev server, furtherly test them out by building the website:

bun run build

5. Start:

bun start

In a browser, load the page localhost:3000 and you should now be able to view the built website.

Download button non-functional on mobile

Describe the bug
On an Android and a iPhone when pressing DOWNLOAD button
on the main page nothing happens. But it does work on my
Desktop computer using Chrome and if I enable "Desktop site" on
my Android phone it also works as expected. So this is mobile
specific.

What kind of a bug is it?
User interface on the site is not working as expected.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
0. On a mobile device

  1. Go to https://dahliaos.io
  2. Press Download, no animation
  3. Release DOWNLOAD, nothing happens

Expected behavior
Because DOWNLOAD is a button it should animate when pressed and when
released it should "goto" the linked page or section. The "LEARN MORE"
button directly above it does animate and on release renders the expected
information. The DOWNLOAD button does nothing.

"View supported devices" link on https://dahliaos.io/#features is broken

"View supported devices" link on https://dahliaos.io/#features leads to https://github.com/dahliaOS/documentation/blob/main/supported-hardware.md which is a 404. I think it should lead to https://github.com/dahliaOS/documentation/blob/main/docs/articles/hardware/supported-devices.md. I looked at changing it myself, but in the source in this repo, I only saw links to https://dahliaos.io/docs/#/articles/hardware/supported-devices, so I wasn't sure if it is the right place.
