loanshark's Issues
When LoanShark.app
gets launched, the preferences file in /Library/Preferences/
gets deleted.
When the removeLoanShark.sh
script, it fails to remove everything.
There is no CLI for using LoanShark or a CLI management tool for managing LoanShark
The lockout screen fails to launch on macOS 10.15. The machine was a clean install of the OS.
When a user enters a justification into the text box, it does not carry over to the email which gets sent to the admin.
Is there any tutorials for me to learn the LoanShark ?
Wiki needs to be created to ensure new users are able to have a place to go for references.
Running the build_pkg.sh script removes the Preferences (which isn't incl in the 0.2.1 release). Had to copy over from .2 release.
While running the v1.0-RC0 version the debugging menu is exposed while debugging is not set in preferences.
The ReadMe document is not updated or ready for release.
Issue: No Authentication method for non-Jamf users
Possible Solution :
Authentication that uses a shared secret
Generic secret entry screen
Key to detect which MDM Provider is being used.
When using the macOS log
command, you should be able to run log stream --debug --info --predicate 'subsystem == "com.github.cybertunnel.LoanShark"
and get the logs.
When using the --set-expired
flag in LoanShark, it doesn't set the loaner to expired if there is no loaner period set. Also, it does not return a non "0" exit code to alert of an error. Instead it just runs like normal.
Fix: Detect when loaner period is not set and the loaner period is attempting to be set to expired.
Having a single package or tool for people to be able to compile an installer that has everything included will help cut down on adoption time.
Nice to have:
When configuring the loan period in the UI - indicate that the period is in days and only accepts numbers (took me a few tries to figure that out)
When using Jamf Cloud, they do not use the 8443
port. Instead they use 443
.
Suggested method of fixing issue:
Add preference key if using Jamf Cloud
Add logic to swap 8443 to 443 if using Jamf Cloud
When using the new user population feature, the UI freezes while it does the API call.
It would be great if we could prefill the contact information in the plist. We have general contact our IT departments so if we could prefill the contact information in the plist if would save the techs a step when assigning the computer. Also making that the phone number option would be great as well.
When the loaner period is not configured, the app icon is not properly displayed in the notification that pops up.
