Are all keys supposed to be caps or is there a mixture?

In the menus provided it's not clear that they are Caps and on "Axes-Armour-Ale" I don't think any where caps...

It's a bit confusing, sorry!!

In this image, that you access by double ESC on the game, the x or X doesn't do anything:

I've tried small x and big X and nothing happens.

While trying Alpha 33 I could not exit the game after I died.

To reproduce this bug, in Debugging Mode, pick up an item then drop it on the floor and exit the game.
A stack trace will show that the dropSelection procedure caused memory not to be freed,
