I would like to achieve what I ask in my question, but I do not know if it is possible.

Where does the development of Audio Workers stand both at Google and elsewhere? After some initial excitement a few years ago it seems to have gone quiet. I enjoy dabbling with the Web Audio API (and Web MIDI) but can't take it much farther than that without worker support.
