Hi,

can you add the following changes to android/build.gradle?

• implementation instead of compile
• compileSdkVersion rootProject.ext.compileSdkVersion

Currently, we send passwd as a UTF-8 string, salt as an Array of Int and we receive the result encoded as a hexadecimal String.

I suggest changing everything to hexadecimal Strings, this would enable passing non UTF-8 data as passwd.

This would be a breaking change.

What is the return type of the scrypt function?

Normally I would expect a Buffer, but since RN cannot pass binary data between native and Javascript...

Is it a string of lower case hexadecimal (I looked here for Android and here for iOS)?

As title says, even if i call scrypt function with await, UI freezes for a few seconds and the spinner does not appear(i set the <ActivityIndicator/> visible the line before calling scrypt and set it to false the line after, standard async procedure)
