In order to retrieve all necessary parameters for the algo, we'll need to figure out how to:

• Load shapefile from python console
• Iterate through features in multiple part shapefile
• Create point layer
• Update point layer to add/remove features
• Retrieve bounding box for a polygon in a shapefile
• check if a point is inside of a polygon
• Pass bounding box extent to function
• Subset polygons by selection
• Get area of polygon/extent
• Get C++ algo logic/control flow working
• add buffer functionality prior to adding point grid
• put it all together in a user script
• refactor to API spec and submit pull request to vector tools?
• Fine tune algorithm to get exact number of points desired (currently comes up short)
• bolt on layer creation portion
