Compilation error with standalone project

I was trying to check if I could build this repo with another project so I cloned this repo and included it in cmake with add_subdirectory. However, when compiling I got the following errors

Missing header (cstddef)
missing semicolon for CPPUTest macros
And when compiling QPCPP the externals dir was not correct. Instead of looking in MY_PROJ_ROOT/deps/cppputest-for-qpcpp/externals it told me it was looking in MY_PROJ_ROOT/externals.
