Daylight

This bundle enables the user to display the effect of light of certain time of day. Additionally, the shadow of 3D-Objects can be simulated.

Development Guide

Define the mapapps remote base

Before you can run the project you have to define the mapapps.remote.base property in the pom.xml-file: <mapapps.remote.base>http://%YOURSERVER%/ct-mapapps-webapp-%VERSION%</mapapps.remote.base>

Other methods to to define the mapapps.remote.base property.

  1. Goal parameters mvn install -Dmapapps.remote.base=http://%YOURSERVER%/ct-mapapps-webapp-%VERSION%

  2. Build properties Change the mapapps.remote.base in the build.properties file and run: mvn install -Denv=dev -Dlocal.configfile=%ABSOLUTEPATHTOPROJECTROOT%/build.properties

Daylight bundle breaks loading of parameterized URLs

Reproduction:

  1. Create an app with a 2D map
  2. add viewmodeswitcher, parameter-url and dn_daylight bundles
  3. Open app, switch to 3D and change to a new perspective
  4. Reload URL

Expected result:

  • Map is started in 3D and shows the new perspective

Actual result:

  • Map is shown in 2D
  • viewmodeswitcher tool indicates a 3D map
  • An error is printed in the browser's console: esri.core.Accessor] Accessor#set Assigning an instance of 'esri.views.MapView' which is not a subclass of 'esri.views.SceneView'

Additional Hints:

Possible quick fixes:

  1. Prevent creating of the widget for MapViews
  2. Add toolrule to "DaylightToggleTool" that tool is only available in 3D

Not working in map.apps 4.11

Map view does not load in map.apps 4.11.

Error Message:
ViewProvider: Map does not reach 'isValid' state after 15sec. Please check your view and layer configuration.
