cwp-main's Introduction

The Cold War Project Logo.

This mod is a work in progress. Cold War Project Is developed by a hardworking team of volunteers passionate about the challenges of the Cold War era, and the political and economic systems that shape our world both today and into our future. We begin in 1946 following the Paris Peace Treaties with the world in ruins and the future uncertain. Will you lead your nation into prosperity or will you be relegated to obscurity?

Our team's main objective is to preserve the design philosophy of vanilla Victoria — an open ended sandbox without set historical railroading — while also adding dynamic flavor and mechanics to allow for a variety of outcomes. It should allow for a wide variety of playstyles and strategies, and should be fun to play for both casual and hardcore players.

Features

  • A beautiful map of the world with the borders of 1946
  • New Corruption, Political Parties, and Ideologies
  • The United Nations and other international organizations
  • The International Monetary Fund, currency exchange, and central banks
  • Decolonization, new nations to form, and new subject interactions
  • Technology from 1946 to 2046 based on real world projections
  • Accurate populations for entire world at 1946
  • New laws and policies to dictate the trajectory of your nation
  • New production chains and resources

cwp-main's Issues

Passing dystopian laws should plunge the country into chaos

I think passing dystopian laws as Western countries in modern times should have more debuffs than buffs, definitely spawn a whole lot more radicals and instantly plunge the country into chaos. Dystopian laws should also not be as widely accepted by IGs as they are currently

Missing small IG icons

Missing small icons for IGs - I think only vanilla ones show up on highest legitimacy suggestions buttons

Fix pop investment

Most of contribution efficiencies are useless due to this:

    state_farmers_investment_pool_contribution_add = 0.05
    state_shopkeepers_investment_pool_contribution_add = 0.05
    state_aristocrats_investment_pool_contribution_add = 0.1
    state_capitalists_investment_pool_contribution_add = 0.2

investment_pool_efficiency_mult currently can be used only for those 4 professions as only those can invest in stuff.

that’s an oversight. We should reduce the amt of money “conjured” from investments and then, at public choice theory, enable investing for all pop types.

So like 0.05 for rest of pops - if you have cooperative ownership, then it would be nicely buffed as heavy duty upper strata isn't here.
Even if 5% of building income accumulated endlessly in investment pool it wouldn't hurt pop SoL very much.

Conscripts not hiring

As I'm to dumb and want to continue playing...

I think I am missing some conscripts
When: since changing to the milita law.
Idk how to reproduce it, but reloading didnt help.

Missing Canals

All the canals in the world are missing bith vanila and mod alike.

Spain starts with an extreme bureaucratic deficit

Spain starts with a very high bureaucratic deficit which makes it impossible to recollect taxes and consequently impossible to play with it without going bankrupt (I tried two times, both times I never got to have a positive budget balance)

ROC is winning the Chinese Civil War way too easily

As the title suggests, ROC almost always wins the Chinese Civil War within the first, or second in-game year. There should be a possibility for an alternate-history scenario where the ROC won, but it shouldn't happen that quick, that fast

AI stops aligning

Every AI country stops aligning with me the second I unpause the game, creating a massive notification clutter on the screen. AI should have an incentive to keep aligning

Steps:

  • start as the USA
  • unpause the game

Wrong Religion,Titiles, and Others in the Middle East

Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Jorden, Kuwait and Bahrain all have both their leaders and state religion as Shia . Ruler titles are wrong for Syria, Kuwait, and Bahrain.
The Golan Heights also need to be part of Syria since they were only captured in 6 day war.
Lebanon has the wrong flag.
Sudanese should be Middle Eastern.

DEFCON buttons opposite way around

Increase/Decrease DEFCON buttons are the opposite way around. Increasing the DEFCON should take it from 5 to 4, and decreasing it should take it from 4 to 5

Crash 1953

Played as Gold Coast, UK was about to lose a war to a revolt, game crashed

Vanilla mortality trend bug

Mortality trend bug - this one is from vanilla.

Line in defines:

@improving_slope = @[(birthrate_at_delta_cap-min_birthrate-min_mortality-mortality_at_equilibrium)/(pop_growth_sol_delta_cap-pop_growth_sol_equilibrium)]

should be

@improving_slope = @[(birthrate_at_delta_cap-min_birthrate+min_mortality-mortality_at_equilibrium)/(pop_growth_sol_delta_cap-pop_growth_sol_equilibrium)]

to make comments about constant net growth above SoL 20 true.
