hugo-bearcub's Introduction

Hi, I'm Caio Lente ๐Ÿ‘‹

๐Ÿ“š I'm a computer scientist with an MSc from IME-USP, a data scientist at Terranova, and a teacher at Curso-R. Occasionally wandering, always lost.

๐Ÿ“ I particularly love writing about R for Curso-R's blog, but you can find all my articles at lente.dev. I also wrote The Zen of R, a book about programming for non-programmers.

๐Ÿง  My interests include machine learning, open source, mathematics, political economy, linguistics, philosophy, design, sci-fi, fantasy, roleplaying games, and more.

hugo-bearcub's Issues

CloudFlare Pages Deploy Fails

Hi,

I'm running into an issue upon uploading my site to CloudFlare pages. It seems to be related to RSS feeds... is there an option to disable them entirely?

Here is my repo if you want to check it out: https://github.com/jsadowyj/sadowyj.net. The build succeeds on my machine... and everywhere else. Just not CloudFlare for some reason.

Absolute urls instead of relative urls cause netlify preview to break

Hi -- many of the internal page links / site navigation links are generated as absolute urls instead of relative ones.

Whereas this doesn't seem to cause any noticeable problems in most cases, it causes the links in a preview site (e.g. a Netlify preview site) to point (as an absolute url) to the main production site rather than link within the preview site -- making it difficult to test the preview site.

Social card preview overlaps author name if the title is long

When the title is relatively long, like in this blog post, the social card preview gets mangled, this is how it looks in Whatsapp and Discord:

imageimage

The full title is Catalyst Quality Award on the Cadence Innovation Conference, you can see it is overlapping the author name.

A few considerations:

  1. I know it's experimental, but I thought I'd report, let me know if you don't want to
  2. In this post the first thing in the content is an image, but it doesn't become the image on the social card. Do I have to use the featured_image on the front matter for it to work?

PS: Thanks for doing this amazing theme :)
