randomkeygen.com's Issues

Empty fields in HTML in Safari 10.1.1 for Mac (probably caused by Javascript error)

When I visit rondomkeygen.com with Safari 10.1.1 for Mac all fields are empty. Even when I click on "Generate a New Set of Random Passwords and Keys" or disable all my plugins. In the developer portal I see the following Javascript error:
SyntaxError: Cannot declare a let variable twice: 'b'.

User agent:
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_5) AppleWebKit/603.2.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/10.1.1 Safari/603.2.4

Use of Math.random leads to weak output

The core script that generates passwords is based on Math.random:

key += chars[Math.floor(Math.random() * chars.length)];

Unfortunately Math.random as implemented by most browsers is a very weak RNG that does not generate "secure" random values suitable for use in passwords or other keys. There is a specific API, window.crypto.getRandomValues that generates cryptographically secure randomness for use in this kind of application.

Anyone who has used the current implementation to generate keys or passwords should consider rotating them.
