homeassistant-idasen-control's Introduction

Cas van Cooten (@chvancooten)

Hey 👋! My name is Cas, I'm a Red Teamer based in the Netherlands. In my free time, I like to build offensive security tooling (OST), specifically in the Nim programming language. In the interest of transparency and to support the community in becoming better at offense and defense alike, I also like to publish my projects publicly as open-source software in a responsible manner (a much-debated point, I know).

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about offensive development, red teaming, or other security topics! Always happy to chat.

homeassistant-idasen-control's Issues

Return output before controlling the desk

Connecting and controlling the desk takes time. This means that the output of the command can sometimes take ~20 seconds. This causes all kinds of problems, especially with Home Assistant, which expects entities to be updated within a couple of seconds.

It might be better to return the final height first and then run the Idasen-controller command. The downside of this, is of course that you don't know if the command was successful or not and if it actually was set to the final height.

Maybe return after connecting, because that seems to be where a lot of problems occur, and before completing setting the height, because that costs a lot of time.
