the plugin does not check the geometry type, hence resulting in invalid geometries for points and polygons.

also, it seems multi-part are not taken into acount. This will also result in emptying the fields.

I have been using this tool by going to Vector---> Swap Vector Direction -------> Swap Vector Direction Then I noticed I have a swap vector direction "ToolBar" that is empty. I checked in the 2.18.XX QGIS version and when it is installed there you get a little Toolbar with a swap vector button.
I am thinking it was intended to be the same for QGIS 3.4, so I thought I would mention this behavior.

The SwapVectorDirection plugin not compatible with QGIS 3.

I would suggest you create a map tool rather than using the current layer + selection.

This makes much more sense I think, since it is the way used by any other action in QGIS.

You can have a look at QgsMapToolIdentifyFeature and can use this to select the line to be swaped.
