Unity package doesn't show as being updateable when you have 5.4 installed

Well, the problem is precisely that:

ERROR: improve-cups-support.patch was not found in the build directory and is not a URL.

This occurred on a fresh clone of the entire repository, having successfully built the previous entries in the README file. I see there was a very recent change removing improve-cups-support.patch. Perhaps other parts of the code needed to be made aware of this change?

Compiz-ubuntu don't work with metacity from archlinux, requires metacity-ubuntu>=2.34.1 (patches) to work properly.

The URL needs to be changed to https://distfiles.macports.org/py-shiboken/shiboken-1.1.2.tar.bz2 because the present URL doesn't work.

Installed gdm, session options are Gnome, KDE, and Ubuntu. Gnome and KDE work, but choosing Ubuntu only loads the background and nothing else

I build all of the packages in a clean chroot environment.

1. The titlebar doesn't integrate into globalmenu when the window is maximized.

2.The window decoration of google-chrome occasionally disappeared.

1. after run compiz.reset. The top panel and left-side launcher turns into black. If I use alt tab to switch applications for several times, they will show up again.
2. newly started windows can't be placed correctly. They are all placed at (0,0)

I manage to debug it a little, it seems to be related to compiz-ubuntu, more specifically gtk-window-decorator.

Chromium does not show in the Unity dash. If you minimize it, you loose your session.

Pulseaudio-ubuntu fails to build with lastest udev with error
"undefined reference to `udev_get_dev_path'"
In http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg03384.html there is a patch to solve this (apparently. It didn't apply cleanly).

Reinstalling everything due to the upgrade, even though this particular package doesn't show as needing an update when running the What Can I Update script. Anyway, it won't compile due to a dependency on compiz-kde-ubuntu.

At the moment I'm running the latest XFCE with the provided ubuntu-patches from this git.
Everything works. I finally got the scrollbars and the appmenu (xfce-appmenu-plugin-bzr) to work.

To get the scrollbars to work, I had to use the AUR-package liboverlay-scrollbar and this PKGBUILD by Ner0:

I have tried to install the overlay-scrollbar package that is provided by this git. They installed fine, but they didn't work on GTK2 and GTK3 apps. Is this a know issue?

Gnome-control-center 3.4.1.0 is subject to bug 48441 ( https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48441 ) and crashes if using nouveau.

Time is not currently being shown on the unity dock. Just shows up as 'Time' the word and not the actualy time

Not so much an issue, but a heads-up:

Bringing the version of xorg-server packaged here in line with the one pushed out to [extra] today requires modifications to all of the patches in Unity-for-Arch/xorg-server. I've managed to modify everything, and it appears to work; since I can't find an "attach file" button for github, I've created a source tarball and uploaded it to my private webserver - you can grab it at

I appologize for any problems here - I'm not much of a coder, and this is my first time looking at the Xserver's code.

(I have noticed one oddity since upgrading, which is that the dash won't display using Super_L unless either 1) a window is already open on the current desktop, or 2) it is called once using the mouse first. That said, I'm not sure the fault is the new version of xorg-server, as I tried downgrading to your current version and saw the same behavior. Perhaps it's due to the other updates that came down the pipe today?)
