[Request] rats-search-git about packages HOT 6 OPEN

Lets use rats-search-git due to inconsistent releases DEgITx/rats-search@v1.11.0...master

For my system the git version does not start. I get this error [app] closed because of second application - but the bin works very well. Should this change to the bin version for the chaotic aur?

Dropped the git package because no longer working after Arch electron updates. Tried the bin package. It gets stuck at a blank white window that says "Database patching..."

I'm inclined to drop this permanently. Electron packages are difficult to maintain. They break easily and are difficult to fix.

This program is the only kind I know of. It searches on the bittorrent network without having to use any website and indexes files locally. The interface sucks but I find t so useful. For me the bin builds just fine. Despite getting the same error years ago DEgITx/rats-search#105 - did you try to open it again?

It is true that there isn't any other program exactly like this. Some are that are somewhat similar, like https://github.com/bitmagnet-io/bitmagnet, but still not identical.
