There is at least one package which chaotic-aur builds, which are Git/Bzr or other source tip packages, which declares itself to be a replacement for its stable counterpart, and therefore always cause package management to offer it as a replacement on every system update pass.

Thus far, the following have been reported:

kdisplay-git - replaces: kscreen - fixed
libappindicator-bzr - replaces: libappindicator-gtk3

There may be other such packages in the repository, it may be worth sweeping all the PKGBUILDs for replaces declarations, and listing them here.

Worth telling these packages' maintainers, too, since this declaration really only becomes a problem if anyone is building to custom repositories and doesn't want the bleeding edge replacements.

Hi there! Thank you for the amazing repo that is Chaotic. I've been having some trouble lately where after every pacman related command (update/upgrade), it asks me to import Pedro's PGP key. The following is what it asks me to do:
:: Import PGP key 3056513887B78AEB, "Pedro Henrique Lara Campos <[email protected]>"? [Y/n]

Selecting Yes for the above leads to a missing key error:
error: required key missing from keyring
error: failed to commit transaction (unexpected error)
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.

And then I have to manually add the keys again (from Chaotic-AUR''s website):
sudo pacman-key --keyserver hkp://keyserver.ubuntu.com -r 3056513887B78AEB 8A9E14A07010F7E3
sudo pacman-key --lsign-key 3056513887B78AEB
sudo pacman-key --lsign-key 8A9E14A07010F7E3

I've managed to get around the issue by disabling signature check (SigLevel = Never) for Chaotic-AUR, but I'm not exactly sure what's causing the main issue. Any help would be much appreciated.

Can you add VKD3D Proton Edition please ?
We can see the package on web page but pacman can't find it... 😞 By using vkd3d-git, I don't launch the dx12 games because I build my wine-tkg with the option _use_vkd3dlib="fork".

May be, you no longer build this package because there is some problems with it. Is this possible ?

Reasons:

• This is an extremely helpful package if you are running your desktop under Wayland, as many applications depend on this, so, having it will enable Wayland for many of them. For example, Discord bundles its own Electron version, but with the package discord_arch_electron you can use your system's version.
• electron-ozone takes a lot of time to compile, specially in a laptop.

Request to add the rakudo package https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/rakudo/ to the repo.
This is the Raku language (formely known as perl 6) compiler needed for any Raku development and every major distro out there ship it by default except for arch linux.
Please add it this should have been in arch main repo to begin with.

Having joplin installed and doing a pacman -Syu makes it want to replace the package with joplin-beta. Probably a PKGBUILD error.

visual-studio-code-insiders should be built daily, similar to a VCS package, currently it is stuck at the july update.
As the maintainer stated on the aur page:

IMPORTANT: This package always installs the latest insider build (see pkgver() function), so if you want daily updates, just run "makepkg -si" everyday and it will update. I won't be updating pkgver every single day.

openmw: error while loading shared libraries: libosg.so.161: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

openscenegraph-openmw-git is an openscenegraph version with optimizations for openmw.

openmw-git should be build with it (i guess). I've built aur package, it works.

Please add openscenegraph-openmw-git to repository and provide alternative openmw-git.

Both seem to be updated at the same time, and the AUR is currently the only repo this project is in, so either will work.

the version are missmatched for this specific kernel. I rebuilt all the other packages modeles needed by me with dkms

Currently chromium-ozone fails to build because python2-xcb-proto doesn't build. According to python2-xcb-proto AUR their key needs to be added with a different keyserver. Not sure if this is the correct way/place to mention issues with packages. If not, my apologies.

Hi Pedro,

I install osu-lazer and when I try the multiplayer, I have an notification on the fact that I have an older version. So I tried the osu-lazer-git version and I have exactly the same problem.
I check the git repot on the project and there is an newer version but the git package use this version... So I don't understand... 😞
