What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Use classic discussion UI
2. Install 2.2.2 on top of an older version
3. add-on installs but nothing works, as if it wasn't there

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Win XP

luckily fedora 12 hasn't pushed FF 3.6 yet but I would guess soon. At work
(Win7) I've been without slashdotter for at least a couple of weeks. I
hoped you'd have plans to update it as it's crippling without it!

Icons for other add-ons should display, but they aren't.

Firefox 3.6.12 on Windows XP SP3

The problem appears to be caused by the inclusion of jquery-1.4.4.min.js. If everything but that line is removed from the overlay in overlay.xul, the problem persists. If that line is removed, the problem goes away.

As jquery-1.4.4.min.js is basically unreadable, I'm not sure what's wrong, but I do notice that it uses the "window" variable when it loads which is a bad thing to do before the window has actually loaded. Delaying the loading of jquery-1.4.4.min.js or moving into a module, would probably fix the problem. As is now though it breaks pretty much every other installed add-on.
