autoauth's Issues

Seamonkey

Would be nice to add Seamonky support to the install.rdf.
This refuses to install in Seamonkey although it will work there too.

restart firefox with multiple auth-required tabs doesnt work

hi

I'm on windows xp, got the latest version of firefox 3.5 and auto-auth.
Usually i got several tabs open which require http authentication. if I
restart ff, the browser tries to recover the old tabs. somehow auto-auth
doesn't manage then to automatically submit all auth-dialog boxes. some
still remain open. can you fix this?

Doesn't suggest account-email for facebook anymore

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

  • on normal facebook (facebook lite works perfectly fine), the email
(account-identifier) and password are not filled in as I enter the site.
However, typing the email (or typing the first letter and autocomplete)
    triggers the autosaved password.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

  • 1.3 on WinXP SP3 with updates; Firefox 3.5.5

Please provide any additional information below.

  • btw ebay's login never actually worked with autoauth

  1. Add Firefox as a task on task manager
  2. start firefox from the task manager rather than manually
    3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
if the default page requires a passwod, Firefox will ask for it. the
checkbox to remind the pass will not be displayed.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Windows XP Pro - Firefox 3.0.7

Please provide any additional information below.

Thunderbird support

Can you add support to Thunderbird for this as well? One way to test it is to set the start page to a URL that requires basic auth. I'm tempted to hack the extension and tell it that it's compatible with TB just to see if it works. Can you see any risk with this?

AutoAuth not working with Authentication Dialog Boxes launched by other Firefox extensions

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Install WizzRSS
  2. Subscribe to a feed that requires HTTP authentication (use remember
    password)
  3. On launching firefox, a dialog box with stored username / password will
appear. The data is not automatically submitted.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected: Same functionality as on browser windows.
Instead: I have to confirm by clicking OK each time.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
AutoAuth 1.3
Firefox 3.0.1
Linux
(just for info WizzRSS 3.0.0.3, but I guess it is more a problem of AutoAuth)

Please provide any additional information below.

Would be cool to build a new feature, because it is annoying to OK 3 times
on every browser launch (because of 3 feeds that use HTTP Authentication).

PS: I haven't tried out your own Feed Sidebar. If this is working in
connection with AutoAuth, I might switch.

jamming with iframes and unkown auth

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. build a html page with several (or many) <iframe> tags pointing to some
    sites you usually "auto-auth".
  2. put one (or more) <iframe> in the page with src attribute pointing to
pages you don't have already the access by authentication. Or remove a well
    known one in your preferences.
  3. launch your page in the browser :p

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

expected output:
all auto-accept unless one(s) you don't have the access.

What do you see instead:
Many authentication prompts "jam" in front of the browser, even those
you're habit to have them automatically sent.
first, it forces you to accept each manually.
secondly, all prompts are upside down and you need to retrieve the order to
login.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

reproducible with 1.3.1.
Firefox 3.5.6 on Debian. not tested with other systems.

Please provide any additional information below.

autoauth is a nice idea, I wish it will continue over versions.

Auto login for dynamically generated HTTP Realms

When I go to https://portal.adp.com/public/index.htm and click on the User
Login button I get:

A username and password are being requested by https://agateway.adp.com.
The site says: "Employee Access [10:50:28:7610]"

The Realm is different based on the time of login, i.e. "Employee Access
[10:50:28:7610]" or "Employee Access [11:10:27:0751]". I didn't know if
there was a way to get around this with AutoAuth.

Thanks,

David

Don't focus auth tab

Would it be possible to not bring focus to the tab that ask for auth, or bring focus back after the auth dialog is closed?

I have a pinned tab that ask for auth, this problem therefore occurs when Firefox is started.
