I came across this issue in conjunction with cfi2017/bl3-save-core#1. When attempting to store a character's item and the serialization fails, an error is generated and the operation aborted. However, if one tries to store an invalid item in the bank, no error will be reported. Instead the bank is completely empty.

I would expect the same behaviour as for characters: i.e. the operation to be aborted with an error.

my save file from my new computer got erased and I'm trying to regain all of that information but the problem is that I can't add new perk points to my character (not sure if there is an option but I fully checked that there isn't an option to add perk points) and I want for the option to put your character at level 85

every time I use the editor after 20 minutes trying to get it open and I add the items the file gets corrupted.

Support for new Vault Card 2 would be nice. Thanks!

When editing guns from new DLC they show up as having no parts at all.

Hello I came across this error box that pops up when I try to save I change d the money value to the max limit and then it gives me this error.

Trying to use the --from-file if the file uses CRLF(windows) instead of the \n Unix style new line the program breaks.

After yesterday's update (07/23/2021) the save editor is not working.

1. There is no line of choosing a save file after start the bl3-save.exe. Also, after pushing the button "Proxy Editor (Recommended)" absolutely nothing is happening.
2. In the "Browser Only" mod items displays incorrectly and after you save the changes, save file become broken.

Save editor version: 1.0.30
Game: Steam version.
OS: Windows 10 x64 update 2004
Browser: Google Chrome 92.0

Fails to save changes to profile or character

When I first booted the exe it found my saves, but subsequent attempts give me no save data I've attached a screenshot of what I see. Do I have to save the exe file somewhere specific for it pick up on my saves?

Using "Change levels of all items" function leads to "Failed to Save", and does not save.
Changing levels individually works fine and saves.

So at first I thought the editor was not properly saving the changes to my character file but after a bit of digging I noticed a funny quirk, I checked the edit times of the copy of the save in my save folder and the copy I made as a backup to the desktop and low and behold...
The desktop copy was the one being edited
Maybe this explains why some people are finding the editor is not working, its working just only on the backup as it's going to the desktop first instead of the files in the save folder.

Cannot load a save in the web editor and nothing appears with the proxy

I am using Windows 10, 64bit. When I open a profile or character file with the browser editor and edit it (or even do nothing at all) and save it afterwards, the downloaded files size is only 4 Bytes big:

Inspecting it with a file editor the save only contains of "null":

I've tried this with the most recent versions of Chrome and Firefox. Hope you can check on that and maybe give me some further instructions to help you out here.

I placed that file into direct save folder
C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\My Games\Borderlands 3\Saved\SaveGames\WHATEVER NUMBERS

When I double click, nothing happened. I allow this file on firewall, and antivirus program, but still nothing happened.
Anyone could help me out for this? What am I missing?

For reference, I am using v1.0.30 and I am using Windows 10 on the latest build.

Whenever I create new Grenade Mods when editing the Inventor Data it is not possible to edit the Manufacturer. When clicking on it the list doesn't appear like other items. It is possible to duplicate another Grenade Mod and change the balance to the new grenade mod though as a quick fix.

When it comes to Shields it is not possible to create new Shields. The Shield option doesn't appear in the Type area when creating the item.

Wasn't sure if this was found or mentioned yet. I appreciate and love this save editor so far, besides those issues. Thank you in advance!

The guardian ranks are not displaying correctly and there are two of them on top of each other on the right corner.

Hi,

When I created a number of items and pressed the save button, I noticed that a dialog box appeared saying that the save failed.
After some experimentation, I found out that the GPart_Siren_PhaseflareDamage anointment on some of the weapons was causing this error.
However, this anointment does not cause problems with all weapons, only some (e.g. S3RV-80S-EXECUTE and Psycho Stabber) cause save failures.

Sorry the information is not complete, but I hope it can be fixed.
