maxlength-per-role's Introduction

$Id$

This module allows administrators to set maximum lengths for the body and CCK text fields of content types on a per role basis. It works hand in hand with the maxlength module. The Maxlength module is required, and I pretty much stole the structure from that module to create this one. At some point this could probably be incorporated into the Maxlength module.

maxlength-per-role's Issues

counting problem with linebreaks

Hi carsonblack,
first of all: this module is a cool idea!

Unfortunately I discovered a counting problem with linebreaks which results in a disagreement between maxlength module and your module.
See http://drupal.org/node/786330 for some details.

I was able to fix the counting mismatch with a little hack in maxlength_per_role.module at line 156:

$remaining = $values['per_role_maxlength_limit'] - drupal_strlen(str_replace("\r\n", "\n",$value));
