It would be preferable if, when the Stream Name is supplied, then the parameters of the stream (primarily, max resolution) could be found automatically through the use of the Google APIs.

It would be handy if it were possible to use the Google APIs to create, manage and publish the live event from end-to-end, rather than having to create the event on the YouTube website and copy the data in. The APIs allow for this, it has just not been implemented yet.

Include the option of also broadcasting a backup stream (bandwidth and processor power allowing) to YouTubes' redundant endpoint. Currently, this can only be established by running a second instance of RTMPTube.

By default, the command-line string includes a video filter to expand the luminance channel of all input video from the clipped PAL range 16-235 to the full range 0-255 to allow for truer colour representation.

However, if the stream is required to comply with the PAL standard, or is already full-range, it should be possible to disable this (even though true PAL-compliance cannot be achieved, as the YouTube stream is required to be at 30fps).
