GoogleDirectionsApp

Shiny application front-end to the Google Directions API

Bethany Yollin has modified the open-source (but poorly maintained) gmapsdistance package. This is a copy of her work. Kyle, Rick, and Mausam are investigating this as an alternative for work they are doing. We may also make additional improvements to gmapsdistance.

Also, this is a great example of a professional shiny app! Open up the R project and the ui.R file in Rstudio and click "Run App" (or type shiny::runApp() in the console).

Requesting documentation on API and db setup

Greetings, I tried running the app but I need an API key. However, I'm not sure which API key I need and what the format of api_key.txt file should be. Can you provide instructions in the readme on how to configure the API key and db password? Also, does the app assume a db to have already been built?

> runApp()
Warning in file(con, "r") : cannot open file '_conf/api_key.txt': No such file or directory
Error in file(con, "r") : cannot open the connection
