Not yet. But now I'm keen to implement it :)

+1 for making use of Oauth2. I totally like the simplicity of this module's implementation, secure authentication would be a great addition.

Yes, you have to set the 'Authorization' header. This gist shows how.

You might like to try my fork of gspread created for the purpose of adding OAuth support.

https://github.com/FleetingClouds/gspread/wiki/How-to-get,-use-and-refresh-OAuth-access-tokens-for-gspread.#wiki-access-and-refresh-tokens-script

It is only two minor commits behind Anton's master version.

I have created a YouTube video series that shows how to use GSpread with OAuth, in a larger context.

The series is documented here:
http://blog.warehouseman.com/2014/02/step-00-handbook-for-devops-for-openerp.html

The specific step of interest to GSpread users is here:
http://blog.warehouseman.com/2014/02/install-and-check-gspread.html

So what's the status of this? I see there are two different oauth2 pull requests already, #86 and #129, the first one has been open for a few months with no review or comments from @burnash :/

And a mostly empty branch in this repo with just fe9484e

burnash avatar burnash commented on August 28, 2024

@dequis you're right, it is long overdue. I've been very busy with my job lately and haven't had enough time to review and carefully test #86. I've made a branch fe9484e (based on @martinhbramwell's and @matthew-campbell's cues) and left it for those who can hack it together with their usage of OAuth.

Now when another pull request addressing the same issue arrived I'll do my best to assess both approaches as soon as I can and merge OAuth support to master.

Sorry for inconvenience and thanks for using gspread.
