Unable to load resources

Everything was going well until I got to the exercise-socketio where it seems files from outside cannot seem to be downloaded.

localhost/:42 GET https://cdn.socket.io/4.4.0/socket.io.min.js net::ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT
localhost/:38 GET https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/materialize/1.0.0/js/materialize.min.js net::ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT

This happens with both the exercise and full code versions, and all of the previous exercise code worked just fine.

Can you offer any insight as to why this might be happening? I really couldn't find much googling for a solution.

I'm running the following if it's relevant..
Windows 10 Eduction (64-bit)
Visual Studio Code 1.57.1
NodeJS v16.13.1
Chrome 96.0.4664.93 (64-bit)
