Hi Brent

First of all, thanks for putting this together. I continued working on my MacBook (only saw the issue on Android with my physical phone), but today, I'm seeing the exact same issue on my physical iPhone (only used simulators so far).
So I have now two physical devices hanging when trying to perform API calls:

• my Android, building from my Windows machine
• my iPhone, building from my Macbook

Both worked before ejecting.

I then downloaded your repo to my MacBook, to try and repro things there, but building this is crashing right at startup.
Note that I'm now on a different machine / OS / phone!

I guess I have to tackle this step by step. So far, running an empty bare app seems to be broken on OS X. Here's my simulator when running your app. It's actually the same if I script a bare app myself and run it on the Macbook for both iOS/Android.

iOS suddenly stopped working too (don't ask me why it worked nicely for more than a day, I don't even want to know), so I did the whole eject and traced things with smaller steps.

The first thing that required changes was reanimated2, and after upgrading, I noticed this in my yarn.lock:

Given that I couldn't fetch anymore, that looks fishy enough to investigate further. I really don't understand how this could then have affected my vanilla bare project, but maybe that was just a wrong metro instance serving me content. But it might not be expo after all :)
