Braintree Spring Example

An example Braintree integration for Spring (Java).

Setup Instructions

Install gradle and project dependencies:

./gradlew build -x test

Copy the contents of example.config.properties into a new file named config.properties and fill in your Braintree API credentials. Credentials can be found by navigating to Account > My User > View Authorizations in the Braintree Control Panel. Full instructions can be found on our support site.
Start server:

java -jar build/libs/braintree_spring_example.jar

This starts the server on port 8080 listening to all interfaces.

Running tests

All tests are integration tests. Integration tests make API calls to Braintree and require that you set up your Braintree credentials. You can run this project's integration tests by adding your sandbox API credentials to config.properties and running ./gradlew test.

Testing Transactions

Sandbox transactions must be made with sample credit card numbers, and the response of a Transaction.sale() call is dependent on the amount of the transaction.

Pro Tips

Run java -Dserver.port=4000 -jar build/libs/braintree_spring_example.jar to start the server on port 4000. Replace 4000 with any number to start it on a different port.

TRANSACTION_CREDIT_CARD_IS_REQUIRED: Cannot determine payment method.

Issue description

Error: TRANSACTION_CREDIT_CARD_IS_REQUIRED: Cannot determine payment method.

Getting above issue when i try to hit/submit the transaction here for the first time. More we see that POST gets called here rather than GET method. If we change that, transaction flow doesn't work here

Moreover flow works file with card here
Also for PAYPAL method doesn't work here and display below error

Deploy to heroku failed with 'findMainClass' not found in root project

Clicking on Deploy to Heroku and submitting valid config vars leads to following failure.

Paypal Modal starts off screen on second monitor

Issue description

In this example and on your live example in the online documentation. When I click on the yellow pay with paypal button the modal appears off screen. This happens when I am using the browser on a second monitor attached to my laptop. I took a screenshot but you can't see that to the far left, the modal appears there and I can expand the edge to make it appear on screen.

Connection Time out when accessing localhost:8080/checkout

I was able to set up the sample and run it but when I am trying to access it with the following URL

I get the timeout from the server when it is trying to get the token.

Followed instructions on how to run this example, but it does not run. I updated config files and followed all other instructions. However, hitting following links gives me always the same error:

Hello, there are a few questions I would like to ask you about.

This project uses credit card payment only needs to input credit card number and expiration time. If it is a real online environment, what else needs to be added? Need csc?
Can the customer object not be created? What are the benefits of creating?
Does cvv have to be configured? Can I use illegal means to make a payment if I don't configure the cvv?

Braintree Spring Example is not Working Properly

Issue description

I clicked the "Deploy to Heroku" button inside the README and filled in my braintree credentials. The deployment was successful. When I tried to test the app, it showed errors.
