Installation

Go to Plugins -> Add New and search for Elementor Header & Footer Builder.
Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' screen in WordPress.
Go to Appearance -> Elementor Header & Footer Builder to build a header or footer layout using Elementor.
After the layout is ready assign it as header or footer using the option Select the type of template this is (screenshot)

How Does This Plugin Work?

Go to Appearance -> Elementor Header & Footer Builder to build a header or footer layout using Elementor.
Click on “Add New” and design a template with Elementor.
Once the template is ready, set is as a header/footer/block using options “Type of Template” (screenshot).

a) For Header/Footer - Select the target location with the option “Display On”. With this Header/Footer will be visible only on selected locations for selected “User Roles”.

b) For Custom Block - Just copy the shortcode and add it anywhere on the website. Your designed template will display automatically. Display conditions or user roles will not be effective with shortcodes.

Can You Create a Mobile Responsive Header/Footer Using This Plugin?

Yes, You can create the mobile responsive layout of your header using the plugin.

The Elementor Header & Footer Builder plugin just gives you a container where you can completely design the header using Elementor Page Builder, So the process of creating the mobile responsive layout is exactly the same as you would create a responsive layout of your other Elementor page.

Front Page

Is there a way to hide the header/footer on the Front Page? I cannot even get it to hide when I use an Elementor canvas template for a page. It would be nice if there was an elementor canvas and an elementor canvas - hfe page template option.

Can you add support to add/remove the Header and Footer on individual pages?

Could I request that you add an option so we can choose on individual pages which headers and footers we would like to use for that page?

If possible, at least allow the option to disable Header/Footer for certain pages?

Currently there are some pages such as Home Hero Images or things that:

Do not need a footer or header
Require different headers because of transparency issues for transparent headers.

This would help tremendously as Astra also does not allow this option. GeneratePress allows for changing of header/footer but only on the theme. Cannot use Elementor as a builder for the header/footer which would be infinitely flexible.

Without this change it makes all of the new, nice elementor nav options kind of pointless unless you have consistent header/footer for each page.

The id needs to be passed through WPML's filter before rendering it - https://wpml.org/wpml-hook/wpml_object_id/

header-footer-elementor error with the 404 page

so i use the Header Footer Elementor plugin to design the header and footer in my theme but when i go to the 404 page i find this error and it shows only on the 404 page the other pages look fine

NB im using the latest version of elementor and header Footer Elementor

Plugin not working in Elementor Template

I am using OceanWP & Elementor in the Elementor Template mode. Went to use your plugin and I got this: 'Your theme must declare the "add_theme_support( 'custom-logo')" for the logo to work' when tried to use Branding mode - Logo.

Does this plugin only work in a WP Template, like OceanWP and nothing else.

Hi, i am using this plugin https://en.wordpress.org/plugins/essential-real-estate/ with Astra theme... ... there is a selfhosted gallery on the property page applying a new header double open light box image....1st is a pluging hosted light box and the second is i believe elementor hosted light box here is an example

Use fullwidth template when editing header/footer template

Also, Right now when editing header, it is created in the page content area, it would be nice to design the header at the top of the page (header) similarly footer should be displayed at the very bottom of the page.

Add Theme Support not affecting the unsupported theme nag

I've added support for upcoming theme and both header & footer function as they should.

The only probplem I'm facing is that the unsupported theme nag still shows after adding add_theme_support( 'header-footer-elementor' ); - any ideas on how to remedie this?

Header html code inside <head></head> tag

this plugin push it's <header> html code inside <head> instead of <body>

Add option to force enable the Header / Footer on Elementor canvas template.

Right now the header footer's are not rendered on Elementor Canvas template. but this confuses a lot of users as many of them use elementor's canvas template to create pages.

Can't "Edit With Elementor"

When I create a new header template > Save It > Click Edit With Elementor > the page just refreshes.

Plugin cause duplicate content render

This plugin seem to cause duplicate rendering of the page content, which can cause a memory issue, and a problem when using "require\include once" inside the content.

Seem to happen because of creating new instance of "Frontend" class instead of inherit the frontend from the Elementor class.

PL a fix.

Sticky Header/menu support for Astra

Any idea on how to enable sticky header support for the Astra Theme. I'm quite far along with my site and don't want to have to change themes again because of this on issue. It's a vital function for me though.

I am using the latest Astra Theme(Child), Elementor, Header/Footer 1.0.7 with Wordpress 4.9.
I hope you can help cos I'm getting quite confused now. Thanks!

Header and Footer blank

Thanks for creating this plugin!

I do have an issue, where the header and footer are in place, as they cover the theme header and footer (astra) – but show up as blank. For ref. the site is hansburkhardtestate.com

Is this a cache issue? I have tried to delete and re-install the plugin both via WP admin and via FTP. I have also deleted my headers and made new ones, without luck.

Editing the drop-down menu icon and page active states?

Hi,

I love the plugin, it's brilliant but I'm having some issues editing drop-down menu icons and active state preferences. I've looked at the elementor pro dashboard over and over but I cannot seem to find how I edit them! I've written more details below, fingers crossed you can help! I'm using Elemnetor Pro with GeneratePress (free).

How can I change the drop-down menu icon? It's currently a down arrow and it doesn't align with the side of the text/button, it drops below it, even when the horizontal spacing is increased. See screenshot 1.

How do I change the active state? It currently changes the text to bold. Again screenshot attached.

Conflict with Press Elements

There seems to be a conflict with Press Elements in the Editor. https://wordpress.org/plugins/press-elements/

This plugin takes over and modifies the modules from Press Elements i.e "Post Title" gets changed to "Elementor Header Footer Title"

Is this the inteded behaviour?

Does the plugin comes with its own modules to build out the header or does it rely on 3rd party elements?

Footer not showin on blogposts anymore

Hi, since the update today, the footer is not showing on Blogposts anymore.
It was showing perfectly before the update.

Elementor nav dropdown behind Astra page title

With the Astra theme, when I make a header in Elementor and use the navigation widget, the mobile dropdown goes behind the default theme page title. (See screenshots)

On page load, the header blows up to full image size for the header height, before going to normal height in 1 or 2 seconds. This is happening on desktop, mobile & tablet.

Looks like a bug.

disable menu toggle?

Thanks for the great plugin. Not sure if this is where to ask a question about header footer but:

What's the easiest way to disable the menu toggle for mobile devices and still keep the original menu? I have a very small secondary menu (using the "default navmenu" element) which I don't want to collapse/toggle on smaller screens.

I can't get the footer to show up, all kinds of mess... urgent

I set up a the header page in the plugin, I assigned the drop down to header, and when i go to any of my pages it doesn't show up.
It has to have something to do I guess with the selection on the right side under 'templates'. Which I currently have selected to Elementor Canvas. There are videos saying you can use it with elementor so I don't know why it's not working and I had it working a long time ago then went to designing the header right on the page instead and now back to trying to do it this way to fix some mobile issues and it won't work.
If I select FW Fullwidth then I get a really wonky thing where the menu shows up, but another menu shows up underneath it in black as well as the menu settings I made in elementor don't seem to carry over.
If I select FW fullwidth no header or footer then it doesn't show up at all.

I am using the generatepress theme. I use to have astra and switched after people telling me that generatepress was so much better but, it seems to create far more problems then it solves.

Thoughts?

As this is a Design functionality plugin then the menu for the CPT is more apripriately suited to be under the Appearance tab.

Where it is right now implies that this is a settings functionality for WordPress!

Disable custom header on _underscores theme

I am using _underscores theme, which is a very solid, lightweight, basic theme which is using the default wordpress custom header for header.

I didn't figure out how to disable this basic custom header with this function that is described in the wiki:

Header Footer Elementor won't allow me to edit with elementor when active

Hi,

The Header Footer Elementor plugin won't allow me to "edit with elementor" when the plugin is active. I emailed Elementor and they said I need to reach out to you. I currently use the GeneratePress theme. There isn't any error message - "edit with elementor" just doesn't load due to the conflict with this plugin.
