Rotate item issue

Describe the bug
When I try to rotate an item it takes me clicking the middle button several times before actual rotation happens

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Select an item
  2. Try to rotate
  3. No rotation
  4. Several more attempts before actual rotation

Can't unhide a character after hiding it.

Describe the bug
I chose a vampire lord from the undead list and I right cicked on the model and clicked 'Hide.'
When I tried to right click again, the character did not respond to the click. I can move the character still, just not interact with it in any way.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Choose a character from the list of premade characters
  2. Right click and choose 'Hide'
  3. ???
  4. Can't un-hide character

Placing on 'build planes' BP, against objects below the BP

Describe the bug
placing tiles with a tile on a lower BP adjacent to the tile creates some overlap of placement options

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Build wall 2 stories
  2. move to a buildplane where the lower wall is slightly below the BP placement will be possible on BP and just under against the wall.

Drag-Cloning walls misaligned after spawning.

Description:
When using the drag function to clone a wall tile (in this example, "Tavern Wall 01") the tile doesn't drop where expected, and seems offset by one grid location. This doesn't happen when cloning an individual tile.

Expected Behaviour:
Wall tiles spawn in line with the previous tiles.

Actual Behaviour:
Wall tiles spawn misaligned with the previous tiles, and are offset by one grid item

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Load empty build
  2. Place tile "Tavern Wall 01"
  3. Shift+Middle Click to begin Clone mode
  4. Move mouse so that preview / placement grid lines up with previous wall tile
  5. Drag a line of 2 or more tiles and let go
  6. Tiles spawn misaligned.

Player can move non-player creature

Describe the bug
Player can teleport non-player creature by Shift-Click.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Shift-Click creature that player is unable to move normally
    Expected: Nothing happens
    Actual: Player can teleport other creatures

Cutbox and shift+middle mouse

Describe the bug
Clicking something while the cutbox is giving vision selects the object that is invisible due to cutbox. im not sure bug is the word for it... but it does feel a bit odd to be unsure why the wrong tile appears until you realize it.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Build 2 floors
  2. Toggle Cutbox
  3. Attempt to select through the cutbox.

Sorry to find this one... it seems difficult as the cutbox is great, but possibly fringe to be building while using it.

Green diamond line won't lock

Whenever I try to move a token in an enclosed area, including a roof, the green diamond bar on the right leaps up to roof level, even when it's locked.

You can flick characters into building blocks.

Describe the bug
Hey, I found that when you let go of a character while flicking your mouse they'll move some extra distance. Unfortunately, if this maneuver is performed adjacent to a building block the character can be thrown into the object.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Pick up the character.
  2. move your mouse toward a building block at high speed.
  3. Let go.
  4. The character should now be inside the object.

I hope this helps! I've found that you can retrieve stuck characters by moving the camera into the block that they're stuck inside.

My name instead of GM's in session history while attacking

Describe the bug
I attacked creature, GM denied my request and in session history GM sees his name and I see mine

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Select creature as a player
  2. Attack it
  3. GM either accepts or denies attack
  4. Player's name is shown in session history as the one who decided about attack outcome

Clipping/Unable to delete walls

When building wall/floors and floors next to each other, if your mouse is in the right spot, the tile will sink below the current level and, after it is placed, will be unable to delete.

I simply put two wall/floors one space apart and then a floor kitty corner to both. Then when placing a wall to complete the chain, it sinks below the other walls and cannot be deleted.

Failed to Assign Player ID

Describe the bug
Whenever we were messing around with the game, It was telling me to wait on GM after the board was deleted, So I left cause the people I was in discord with were in game and I was stuck in waiting. So I left then rejoined and it caused the bug.

  1. Delete Game board
  2. Leave
  3. Rejoin

Line of sight issues

Describe the bug
Moving a player token into a closed space with the door not open, fails to properly update the line of sight on enemy/neutral tokens until you move the player token inside the space again.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Make an enclosed space with a door
  2. Make another space next to it with enemies
  3. Move a player token into the enclosed space without opening the door
  4. Move the token again to properly update the line of sight
  5. Repeat the process with the door open to see the proper behavior

Additional context
This is a pretty small one as I feel 90% of the time you'll be opening doors, but for uses of say; Dimension Door, you'd want the Line of Sight to update properly.

Control C Copy causes board crash and kick to second board.

Describe the bug
When I use the copy functionality after using the volume tool I am kicked with an error message to another board. "Board Update Failed: Unhandled Exception. Left Board. Error ID to report to the devs: 4928491B-22F6-405A-8CB9-958C48F4FBDF

  1. Select multiple ground floor tiles using the volume tool (2 part left clicking).

You guys are incredible I hope Ree is getting better and doesn't work too hard!

Ctrl-Z also move board (on French keyboard, as Z key is Up movement)

Describe the bug In Build mode, while canceling last action with Ctrl-Z, the board move as using movement key, really annoying with many cancels.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Using a French keyboard: 'Z' = Up Moving key like Up-Arrow key

  1. After adding things on the active board
  2. Hit 'Ctrl' + 'Z' keys to undo last action
  3. Last action undone
  4. Board slips in upward direction, like pressing Upward key ('Z' or Up-Arrow)

Can become quite annoying with multiple cancels

CTRl Z sometimes doesn't work until the 4th time

Describe the bug
Sometimes while on builder mode, and while holding a tile, you need to press several times CTRL Z in order to redo the previos tile you placed.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Enter builder mode
  2. Place some tiles
  3. Press CTRL Z

Additional context
I had ambient sound and music set, and was using the cavern floor and wall tiles.

"Wooden Fence Corner" does not always line up

Describe the bug
The "Wooden Fence Corner" does not line up in most configurations with either other instances of itself or with the basic Wooden Fence object. There needs to be a simple way to either shift the objects around manually, or they need to be redesigned to "snap" together correctly so as not to look ridiculous.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Place a few pieces of Wooden Fence in different directions
  2. Place a Wooden Fence Corner instance at the ends, in different configurations
  3. Observe that they do not line up.

Additional context
There was no crash, so I assume this is low priority, but there's a good chance this issue pertains to quite a few resources, so a way to make things "snap" together or be manually configurable would be great.

When the second board is removed, all the options disappear

If you create a second board, and then, you delete it when this one is selected, it makes all the options disappear, you can't go back to the first board or anything, you have to exit to the main menu and enter again

To reproduce it
-Create a second board
-Open construction menu
-Select panels
-Eliminate the second board, which, you're
-See how the board is deleted and all the options disappear except for the configuration, help or exit

Visuals using cutbox

Describe the bug
tavern walls leave behind a ghost above themselves.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Build 2 stories of walls.
  2. view without cutbox, find point where the upper level pulls away.
  3. back up 1 tick and turn on cutbox.
  4. crazy stuff.

Managed to get a creature permanently tilted.

Describe the bug
After dragging my giant rat, through some dice, it ended up some 30° tilted permanently, including the base. No amount of dragging and teleporting could restore it to the original orientation. I was the player in someone else's scenario.

To Reproduce
Couldn't reproduce immediately. But sounds like some temporary changes to the tilt managed to permanently override the parameters of the model. Maybe you can think of which part of the code is responsible for this. If not, feel free to close this issue.

Teleport Creature is mismarked

Describe the bug
Input for Teleport Creature is incorrect:

Help menu says "Shift + right mouse button"

Actual input teleport creature input is "Shift + left mouse button"

Incorrect d100 rolls

Describe the bug
Not sure whether or not to describe it as a bug per se, but it's possible to roll higher than 100 on a d100 roll (d10 + percentile)

I rolled 00 on the percentile and 2 on the d10, which Talespire read as 102. Obviously different systems and different dms have different ways of reading d100s but this should at the very least not be possible.

Personally, I roll percentile for the tens place and the d10 gets added to that- ie 90 percentile and 0 on the d10 equals 100, while 00 percentile and 2 d10 (as in the actual scenario) would be 2.

To Reproduce

Roll a percentile die and a d10 together, with the percentile rolling 00

Additional context
An option within the dice menu to read percentiles differently could be useful- toggling between reading 00 as either 0 or otherwise.

placing walls on edge of building offsets them

Describe the bug
placing walls as a group offsets them away from the wall edge

Clicking and dragging mouse while laying down 'Cobblestone Floor - Small' crashes the program (Windows 7)

Describe the bug
Didn't think it was supposed to do anything, but when I accidentally clicked and dragged while the 'Cobblestone Floor - Small' asset was selected it crashed the program and corrupted the project file.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open a new project
  2. Lay down some 'Cobblestone Floor - Large' assets
  3. Select 'Cobblestone Floor - Small' asset
  4. Lay one asset down
  5. Click and drag with mouse
  6. Talespire crashes

Host leaving the game doesn't notify others/causes crash

I hosted a campaign for another player and left after some messing around. The other player (as a GM role) could still edit things but when I reconnected, he got kicked out.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behaviour:

  1. Host a campaign
  2. Join the campaign as a client
  3. Host exits to main menu
  4. Host rejoins
  5. The client gets kicked out

I don't know the server architecture behind ToS. If I am hosting a server for others to join and it's not hosted on a server elsewhere, then a notification to inform players when I leave the game and have them gracefully return to the main menu would be nice. Else, there is an issue regarding the Owner leaving the game.

Disappearing props

Describe the bug
I was making a mock up tavern to test the building features and I noticed that after some time, some of the random props I had placed on other props or surfaces had disappeared. I tried to place new props in their place just to see if perhaps the game had lost track of them and the new props wanted to stack as if the old one was still there. I placed some just to see what would happen and they 'floated' upwards out of sight. Not quite sure how to reproduce this one, just wanted to mention it.

To Reproduce
Unsure.

  1. Place props on boxes and other surfaces.
  2. build around them
  3. check back to see if they're still there?

Game stuck on load after leaving while creating a new board as a player

Describe the bug
I was stuck on the loading screen (had to shut down the program via task manager) after leaving a campaign for the main menu.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Join a game as a player. The GM has no default board set, so you should be on a blank canvas.
  2. Try to open a board from the menu. In my case, there were no boards available, so I clicked on create a new board. I had no GM privileges. I don't know if as a player I'm supposed to be able to do this.
  3. I got stuck on the "Creating New Adventure" loading screen. I wasn't very patient so I tried to leave for the menu.
  4. I got stuck on the loading screen for the menu.

Draging tavern wall tiles misplacment.

Describe the bug
I think this used to happen early in alpha. idk if it ever has been fixed.

When dragging out a few blocks to place they place offest from expected drop.

  3. Attempt to place another row ontop of the existing row.

Mouse cursor disappeared

Describe the bug
In the windowed mode,
After a few minutes in the building mode, I've changed to combat mode to test and the mouser cursor disappeared and never came back till I tried to end the program and the exit confirm alert came out.
This has happen to me also during the building mode, but after changing to another windows it came back.

Copy board doesn't copy the creatures in the board

Describe the bug
I made a board with a bunch of creatures and then copied to make a variant. I got the new board but when I joined it there were no creatures

Kind of as above

  1. Place some tiles

  3. Use board panel to copy board
  4. Open copied board

placing against an object higher than 'Build plane' BP will lift the placement when drag placing.

Joining Board with clipping

Describe the bug
When someone uses clipping on a board and you try to go to the board whilst having clipping disabled yourself the board won't fetch

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Player1: Enable Clipping
  2. Player1: Use Clipping to place some Tiles inside each other
  3. Player2: Make sure clipping is disabled
  4. Player2: Try to switch to the other board where Player1 is on

Additional context
Just some personal stuff if you're interested. A friend was working on a board with clipping while i was on another without, he asked me to look at something and it didn't work. We then tried to find out what the error was and we were so excited when we found it... Didn't know finding Bugs could bring me such joy :)

Main Menu does not load

Describe the bug
I clicked "Play" in Steam after downloading the beta app, and the main screen loads, but I get a spinning hourglass, and nothing else happens.

Please fix! I'm excited! :)
Attempted to close and reload multiple times, uninstalled and reinstalled, ran executable as administrator - all same result. I also am not using a VPN of any sort - currently residing in the United States.

Update: Stupidly - turning my PC off and back on again has resolved my issue. Hopefully others don't have it.

Crash to Desktop on placing tiles

Tavern Tile Misalignment

1x1 No Floor Tavern Wall Tiles don't line up with 1x1 No Floor Corners on the outside interfaces faces. Rotating 180deg doesn't fix. Not game breaking, but annoying.

Mini Clipping into blocks, unretrievable.

Describe the bug
When moving between build layers as a player i dropped a mini into a block.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Place mini on bottom floor.
  2. Move mini to a position where blocks from a higher "floor" will be
  3. mini will place to first height, and blocks will fill onto it.

It is hard to see but look for the hand.

Additional context
A retrieve mini from board command would be nice to fix this. perhaps a DM request to pick up token, or perhaps DM must issue the pick up order... i suppose the work around is ignore the original and place a second mini for the player.

Creature sizes mislabeled

Describe the bug
These observations are based on the world most famous tabletop game that possesses both Dungeons and Dragons.
The following creatures are labeled Large but place as Medium:

Animals
Bear, Cave
Bat, Giant
Centipede, Giant
Snake, Giant

Elementals
All

Monsterous (misspelled, no "e")
Dragon, Young (although young dragons are medium size)
Manticore, Ferocious
Minotaur, Raging
Troll, Fearsome


Having a way to resize these as the DM would be ultra helpful for when we need something to be bigger or smaller.

Error deserializing the board.

Describe the bug
When trying to join a different user's campaign, it fails stating it could not desearialize the board. gives error code listed below:

Deleting second asset 'Castle Floor 3' on map crashes program (Windows 7)

Describe the bug
After laying down two 'Castle Floor 3" assets (not copying an asset), when the first is deleted it crashed the program and corrupted the project file.

  1. Open a new project
  2. Add two 'Castle Floor 3' assets
  3. Delete the second asset
  4. TaleSpire crashes
