Work in Progress While I'm done with the Hoffman algorithm, I'm still working on enabling the Physics2D library.
This demo uses the excellent Aether.Physics2D library from nkast you may know from the MonoGame community. It's available via NuGet here.
I also use the algorithm explained in 2D Metaballs in XNA posted by Hoffman on NullCandy back in 2012.
You can modify the parameters while you're watching the result. Just follow the on-screen documentation to get the shortcuts.
The short GIF here shows the two presets while I'm modifying some parameters. The GIF somewhat lacks quality. The colors are perfect on-screen.
