Running bitcoin-s

Docker

In this repo, you can just run

APP_PASSWORD=topsecret docker-compose up

which will spin up a docker environment that starts syncing the backend and will allow you to visit the web frontend of the wallet at localhost:3002

or you can build and run the electron app natively.

git clone https://github.com/bitcoin-s/bitcoin-s-ts.git
cd bitcoin-s-ts && ./build-wallet-electron.sh

Getting setup (developers)

For a complete guide on how to get setup with bitcoin-s, see our Getting setup.

This link is intended for setting up development of bitcoin-s. If you want to just install bitcoin-s rather than develop, see Getting started above.

krystal-bull's Issues

Make it easy to copy event name to clipboard

Currently there seems to be no way to do so. I can't just click on the eventName and copy it.

When I do View Event it doesn't allow me to copy the event name either.

Somewhat related to #33

Screenshot from 2021-03-25 11-12-30

Add outcome we attest to in plain text on the rows

Right now we just have the following

Screenshot from 2021-01-12 13-05-13

WE should really add the plaintext outcome we attested to so it's easy for the oracle to see this for the historical record.

It may be worth tackling this on the wallet side, this issue is (sort of) related. I don't think we have to do all the P&L calculation but we can just simply add the outcome for now bitcoin-s/bitcoin-s#2361

Sign Committed R Value

It would be nice to have the oracle to be able to sign a message saying they are committing to the r value.

Add 'clone' / 'fork' an event on krystal bull GUI

It would be extremely handy to have a Clone or Fork (not sure which is better terminology) for an existing event you have in krystal bull

The way i think this should be implemented is when

  1. Right click an existing event in your event table
  2. You should see two things pop up View Event and Fork Event
  3. If you click fork event, all the dialog boxes in the new Create Event window should be pre-populated with the existing information for the old event
  4. You can then modify what you needhttps://guides.github.com/features/mastering-markdown/
  5. If you adjust nothing, we should probably throw an exception (don't want to accidentally duplicate an old event)

Nullpointer exception on ubuntu

Hi,
I get below error on ubuntu 20.04.2
Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create a new oracle account, set a password
  2. Close the app.
  3. Relaunch -> I get below error, after a while password entry is allowed so I click "unlock".
  4. GUI opens but my previously created events do not show in the list.

Make it easy to copy eventId to clipboard

For the oracle explorer, we use the eventId to uniquely identify things. It would be nice to have easy access to this in krystal bull for copy and pasting, using the API manually etc.

Create Enum Event: JFrame window not scrollable.

When creating enum events with a large number of potential outcomes the window for entering these outcomes does not become scrollable and thus is limited by the user's screen size.
image

I believe the solution would be to make this and any other relevant JFrames generated by Kyrstal Bull into scrollable frames. I'm not familiar with Scala and do not know how to make this change myself but I would love to learn if someone can point me in the right direction.

Sending attestation to oracle explorer doesn't work unless I close and re-open window

When signing for an event, i would expect to be able to sign and then immediately send it to the oracle explorer from the same window.

Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to work. Here is the workaround flow i currently use

  1. Open the announcement
  2. Sign the appropriate event
  3. CLOSE THE WINDOW (not submit to the explorer, clicking this button doesn't work!)
  4. Reopen the announcement
  5. Send the attestation to the explorer.

I would expect this to work without closing the window. This occurs on 3cd0a16

Java version issue on Mac OS X 10.15.3

When I try to run java -jar krystal-bull.jar I get below error:

I have this java version
java -version openjdk version "1.8.0_202-release" OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_202-release-1483-b49-5587405) OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.202-b49-5587405, mixed mode)
Is there a minimum java version requirement or is the android studio openjdk causing the problem?

No confirmation window when entering advanced mode

I was just playing around trying to click on everything on the GUI and noticed that clicking on Settings -> Advanced Mode doesn't lead to any kind of confirmation window before entering Advanced Mode. I don't know what this mode is but under the assumption that it allows unsafe behavior, it shouldn't be this easy to accidentally have it on (for example by trying to change oracle explorer from production to test and mis-clicking)

Add confirmation screen on GUI for oracle

basically a screen to review all oracle information you have entered before you sign. We talked about this yesterday during afternoon sync and i think we all thought it was a good idea.

Just adding here for now so it doesn't get buried

Allow for specifying a specific time that an event expires

I used krystal bull to create an event to attest to underlying index price of an options contract when it expires.

According to the deribit documentation, this occurs at 8AM UTC.

https://www.deribit.com/pages/docs/options

We don't have a way to specify time in krystal bull, so i had to go with 00:00:00 UTC which is technically incorrect. We should allow them to specify a time.
