change all button padding to 1em in form.
"Full sponsor and partner lineup will be released soon."
Change "will" to "to"
decided it would look nice to give all of the rectangular buttons 2-4 px rounded corners.
I thought we gave the tree/tent image a wrap? It looks fine full screen, but hugs the left edge on smaller screen sizes. Needs just a little padding/margin/position adjustment.
Helps with reaching out to sponsors through a web form, since sponsorship doc can be linked.
Can be found in Google Drive - "bitcamp-sponsor.pdf"
Add Oculus VR as sponsor on the website
tree/tent image is too far to the left on full width screen
change opacity to lighten/darken
on hover, the x in the top corner should not become red. the contrast is off with the dark brown. consider the bright orange?
consistent footer between all pages. content changes on fireside page.
in the meantime, let's make this a direct mailto to zach/dan who can retrieve passwords.
There needs to be some method for differentiating between people who are in high school and college - they might not put "high school" in the "school" field, but they will need to be differentiated for travel reimbursement (and potentially security) purposes.
Maybe a radio button?
I'm afraid that people will not go through the trouble of directly uploading their resume to the internet if it's not already there
Remove "$10K in prizes", just leave blank for now. Or replace it with "swag & prizes" or some filler like that.
Too much whitespace padding. Can we shrink to like 280px or something? I pretty much just need 15px of space on either size at the minimum width (320px),
so (320px - 2*15px) = 290px at most.
Also, we're kind of failing as a well-designed website by not have double-resolution images. Have you ever worked with those yet? Fancy Apple devices and higher-end laptops+tablets have displays that have 2x the pixels in the same amount of space, so if you also give me images that are twice as big, then I can use media queries to tell those devices to load the nicer images.
It really makes a difference; our images currently look blurry on those devices... they look really amazing when you use svg or double-sized image.
collect twitter usernames as a form field under github and above website.
consolidate text
the standard input focus state in css uses these ugly stock blue outlines. let's fix that.
on focus/active/selected state, add this css
outline: 0;
border: 1px $color_orange solid;
change "tee-shirt size" to "shirt size"
this options needs attention. have kunal give all the options in a more clarified way.
Until I can style it effectively, please remove the dropdown. I know we put time into it, but it's not working right now. It may or may not stay this way.
"Take what you love, fuse it with tech, build something the world has never seen." add break after "...tech,", as it was before
Add css to dropdown in university section of Permission Slip section.
Buttons seem to jiggle minutely when hovered. The text shifts and sometimes the box itself seems to expand and retract. This is ugly.
change "contact us!" to "contact our team!"
It would be more satisfying for it to take you back to the front page. I think it would make more sense too.
Have Kunal make a form.
Send that form to people who fill out the permission slip. Insert that into the promise chain of the route that stores the details into the DB, somewhere before the promise that sends a response to the user resolves. Error if the email sending bounces or otherwise fails.
wherever it appears, change "go back" to "previous" in button text
Flashes a black screen momentarily while loading page. I wonder if this is hanging over from the old site. Check for body/html with background: black.
start mid-page, faster speed, cross page horizontally, right cloud must move up
instead of putting every four logos in its own div, let's set a width on one div and let them just float and align themselves. looks weird when screen width changes
change second password label to "confirm password". currently "password" and "password"
brings up the question, is a password confirmation necessary at all?
add map marker back to cole field house area
Currently reads "2014". Should say "Bitcamp 2014"
currently "signup" and "login". the signup button should return to its old version as "register", larger, and centered. underneath that should be a more subtle "login" button, styled as a simple text link.
(may need to tweak wording on "login" to clarify continuation of the registration process)
change "travel stipend" to "need travel stipend". change x/check to open/checked checkbox
hints throughout the site aren't super helpful and may come off too casual/hacky. suggestions for new ones below.
password
"five+ numbers and letters" -> blank
password
"(once more)" -> blank
first name
"sally" -> "Sally"
last name
"hacker" -> "Hacker"
school
"bitcamp high" -> "Bonfire University"
github
"just the username" ->
website url
"if you have a portfolio website" -> "http://bitca.mp/portfolio"
resume url
"host it on dropbox or something" -> "http://dropbox.com/..."
