I'm following the tutorial here: https://swiftype.com/documentation/tutorials/rails and I'm on the section where they've created a rake task to index existing posts.

When I run the task it exits with: SWIFTYPE_API_KEY not set.

I have a .env file in the root of the project directory with the key and engine slug in it. I'm also using foreman as in the tutorial.

Do I need to save the .env file somewhere else?

This was working before so I'm doing some research to see if omniauth has changed since I implemented this. It is authorizing new users because I tested it from a different github account but it's failing with the call back and not displaying the user's photo and name once logged.
