jammming's Issues

Summary - Meets Expectations

You did a good job on this project. Your files look great and you project seems like it works well. Your App.js methods are all there and work properly. Great job adding comments for each method. Careful not to mutate state and use array methods that return a new copy of state. You did a great job rendering all of the children components and passing them the correct props. You show that you have a good understand of the React fundamentals. All in all, nice work on this one and keep up the good work.

Mutating State

In App.js you mutate state directly. You use push in addTrack and splice in removeTrack. Neither of these arrays methods return a new array and instead act on them directly. Instead, you things like concat and slice.

Here is an example:

const newState = this.state.playlistTracks.concat(track);
this.setState({
  playlistTracks: newState
});

Spotify.js

Your Spotify.js file looks good. You did a good job getting that to work. Many students struggle with that file but I'm glad you didn't. Also, it seems like you got your page hosted, nice job. Lastly, nice job understanding and utilizing async/await.

Passing Props and Rendering Children

You did a great job in your file. You pass props correctly and render children the right way. All of your components are set up the right way and you handle state correctly.f
