this is a known issue With mailchamp in general and that is why they prevent you from doing clients side subscriptions. sense Gatsby is serverless, this is the best solution we can come up with. it’s also one of the reasons why we do our best with the plug-in to hide the URL.
take a look at the code and you will see how we try to hide the URL.
It’s also not absolutely horrible if your URL is discovered. I doubt you will get spammed. If you do, there are many ways to solve it outside of the scope of this plug-in.
