Hi, the error is actually ERROR: /private/var/tmp/_bazel_prasadpamidi/28a33e175ae99d3c0234c026cba6c706/external/rules_android~/tools/android/BUILD:273:6: in alias rule @@rules_android~//tools/android:dexsharder: target '@@bazel_tools//src/tools/android/java/com/google/devtools/build/android/dexer:DexFileSplitter' is not visible from target '@@rules_android~//tools/android:dexsharder'. Check the visibility declaration of the former target if you think the dependency is legitimate
This is a temporary issue while the tools used by the android rules (in this case DexFileSplitter) are migrated from the bazel repo to the rules_android repo.
This is fixed in bazel 7.2.0, please try the 7.2.0rc2: bazelbuild/bazel#21774 (comment)
Alternatively you can pass --nocheck_visibility but note that this applies to the entire build, not just this target.
