Help with installation

Friend, I have the same notebook (dell 5584)

Despite working with IT I am a complete beginner with hackintosh, could you please tell me how I should proceed with these files that you have made available here in the repository?

I understand that I need to burn the OS on the pendrive, initialize and format the partition, is there any configuration required during the installation process, or are these files made available here only for configuration after installation?

Sorry for the beginner questions, but taking advantage of the fact that it's the same machine, I'm thinking of trying to perform this installation.

Thanks!

Make Headphones works

  1. in OC Config.plist boot-args sectoin, add
    alcverbs=1

  2. copy alc-verb executable from AppleALC repository somewhere in your system path (preferable /usr/local/bin)

  3. run this command in terminal anytime to make headphones work

alc-verb 0x19 SET_PIN_WIDGET_CONTROL 0x20

  1. To switch back to normal speakers from laptop

alc-verb 0x19 SET_PIN_WIDGET_CONTROL 0x0

Note: No longer needed VerbStub.kext and CodecCommander.kext in OC/Kexts. AppleALC only needed.

Thanks for your guide. I've modified your EFI and used to install Big Sur on Dell 7580 with specs:

CPU: Intel Core i7-8565U
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce MX150 (2GB GDDR5) and Intel UHD 620
Display: 15.6โ€, Full HD (1920 x 1080), IPS
Storage: 1tb SSD (macOS) and 512 NVMe (WIn 10)
RAM: 16GB DDR4, 2400 MHz

I haven't got Intel UHD 620 iGPU HDMI Output working. Any advice please?

Quick question

Hi @Baio1977

Just a quick question, hopefully you remember!
Which commit in the repo was to update opencore before upgrading to MacOS Monterey. I cannot update this laptop to Monterey whenever I try, keeps restarting (Big sur works fine). Would be good to see your commit changes which made it work.
Alternatively, maybe you remember the device that might cause Monterey upgrade to fail so I can check my DSDT.

Thanks.

Hello, im using dell Inspiron 7380, with same 620 graphics and processor as your laptop. For some reason when I connect to a separate display it starts to flicker and turns into a pinkish color. Do you have any suggestions?
