The individual mapper status is considerably different than other achievements, since you can never become an individual mapper by hitting a goal, an admin has to grant that status manually. I am inclined to show the "Tree Mapper" label when the user makes their profile public.

For that matter, can you see the user profile at all if their profile is not public?
