The purpose of this project is to make it easy to use the HoloViz ecosystem with Quarto.

Development

Add {panel-live} filter

I would like to add a {panel-live} filter that works in much the same way as {shiny-live} filter.

Doing this will require some work and fixing some issues I don't yet know how to solve. I would need to

Solve the same issues as identified in holoviz/panel#5812
Understand the implementation of the shiny-live quarto extension
Understand the implementation of py-shinylive

Upstream script_to_iframe

I would like to move the general Panel functionality that can be used for other use cases like Sphinx or mkDocs to Panel.

holoviz/panel#6123.

Make {panel-convert-python} filter compatible with {python} filter.

I would like the custom {panel-convert-python} filter to support the same attributes as the {python} filter, i.e.

echo: whether or not to show the source code above the rendered app
code-fold whether or not to fold the code
code-summary etc.

Cannot get started

I tried searching the documentation, doing google search and asked chatGPT. But I cannot find any documentation on how to create a filter like this. And I'm not able to find the implementation of the filter either.

I've asked for help here quarto-dev/quarto-cli#8049
