New York Times Reider

Abstract

This project came out of a challenge to complete a simple React App in just 8 hours. The New York Times Reider displays all of the top story headlines from the NYT API. The user can sort the headlines by selection a section from the dropdown menu at the top. When the user clicks on a headline, they will be taken to a page that displays the article title, byline, abstract, and a photo.

Install

  • Clone this repo to your machine
  • cd into the directory formula-wonders
  • Run npm install
  • Run npm start

Wins

  • Completing the functionality for this app in the short amount of time.

Challenges

  • Creating a detailed article view when each article did not have an ID or an individual endpoint

As a user, I want to a list of headlines of top stories for today's date.
