framed-serial's Issues

Use Consistent Overhead Byte Stuffing (COBS) algorithm for framing

As mentioned elsewhere in the crate, we can use the COBS algorithm for framing. The cobs crate seems to implement it but probably needs a little work to support no_std.

The current frames seem to be written as:

  1. a 0xff byte
  2. a 2 byte length header
  3. some data bytes

Unfortunately if the receiver becomes desynchronised (misses bytes) I think it'll be impossible to recover. COBS supports this.

I should have time to work on this shortly.

u16 too small

I used your crate to transfer data via TCP/IP and bluetooth rfcomm,
and u16 in general should be enough, but it too close to limit.

So is it possible to make length type to be generic parameter, not hardcoded?
