Love this project, perfect solution for offline alerts at my elderly mothers house.

I’m attempting to solve the popping issue and plan to try a I2S DAC.

My question… I’m using an old set of amplified PC speakers as the output, would the adafruit MAX98357A still be a suitable DAC, or would an un-amplfied one such as the UDA1334A be a better fit for my use case?

Thanks for this great project.
I have two questions:

• Changing this "Thing Name" from the setup web form does not work, that predefined name remains.
• After the init setup, I'm not able to log in to the web interface due to the wrong password, what are the credentials?

Hey James, MrDiy directed to me to this fork and this looks great.
I know a bit about electronics but not as much..

Is there a way to convert the board to components where normal non smd components are required.
and say if i wanted to add a poteniometer for volume where would that be implemented?
