GDAL bindings for Rust.

So far, you can:

  • open a raster dataset for reading/writing
  • get size and number of bands
  • get/set projection and geo-transform
  • read and write raster data
  • warp between datasets
  • read and write vector data
  • access metadata

Many raster and vector functions are not available. Patches welcome :)

Unsound Send implementation for VRTs

The impl Send on raster::Dataset is not sound for VRTs for GDAL versions <= 2.2 (see here for reference). This triggers UB when, for instance, opening the same dataset.

Steps to fix:

  • add feature: min_gdal_2_3 similar to existing ones
  • feature gate impl Send for raster::Dataset

Unresolved questions:

  • does vector::Dataset also need this? Does VRT apply to vector datasets?
