Add progress bar (optional estimated remaining time)

Currently it has no feedback until it finishes translating a language so if you have a lot of phrases it will take a while to see that it actually works on the translations.

A progress bar would be nice, for current language file and overall, with percentage.

An estimated remaining time would also be nice. Every n translations (where n can be any number of translations completed), get the average time it took to complete them and show the remaining time to complete the remaining translations?

Auto-detect indentation

Currently, the outputted json files have their indentation set to 2 spaces

The script should be able to infer and use the indentation from the source language file.

Ignored word list

It should be possible to supply a list of words (e.g. from a file) that should not be translated

Examples

  • brands, products (e.g. Google Translate, Github Copilot, MobilePay Subscriptions)
  • profession specific terminology

Improve performance of get keys total

Currently, the number of keys in the from language file are calculated for every file to be translated. For large translation files, this slows down the script.

The computation only needs to happen once per translation
